2011 Park Shelter Reservations Being Taken January 3rd

Start planning for the summer! Shelter reservations are accepted on a first come, first serve basis beginning January 3, 2011.

Any person or group wishing to request to reserve a Village facility must submit a completed Rental Contract Form with appropriate fee and deposit to the Village Office (2828 Allouez Avenue, 54311) specifying the facilities to be used and the date(s). Requests for reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Requests for shelter reservations will be made available online in January as well. The Village may also deny requests from persons or groups who have previously used Village facilities and have either damaged Village property or engaged in disruptive behavior.

Bellevue Community Blood Drive

The American Red Cross will be hosting a blood drive at the Bellevue Community Center on December 30, 2010 from 1:30 to 6:30pm. The Community Center is located at 1811 Allouez Avenue. The Blood Drive is being sponsored by the Bellevue Lions Club and the Village of Bellevue.

Appointments for blood donors are appreciated, however, walk-ins are welcome. To make an appointment, contact 1-800-RED CROSS or visit their website at http://www.redcrossblood.org.

As a special thank you, all presenting blood donors will be eligible to win a $100 gift card to be raffled off each day.

Village Offices Closed for New Year's Holiday

The Village Offices will be closed on December 30th & 31st for the New Year's holiday. Regular office hours will resume on Monday, January 3, 2011.

Santa Makes Stop In Bellevue

Santa came to the Village of Bellevue a little early this year, stopping at Josten Park with two of his reindeer, Comet & Dancer on December 18th.

The Village of Bellevue Leisure Services Department sponsored the event which had over 100 children, parents and grandparents attend. Children were able to sit in Santa’s sleigh, see his reindeer, participate in a craft project and sip hot chocolate.

This was the second year the Leisure Services Department offered Santa in the Park. It plans to review evaluations submitted from participants and offer the program again next year.

Former Town Chairman Wencil Froelich Honored on December 8, 2010.

The Village Board of Trustees honored former Town Chairman, Wencil Froelich by announcing December 8, 2010 as "Wencil Froelich Day" in the Village and dedicating the Village Hall chambers as the "Wencil Froelich Council Chambers".

Wencil Froelich served as the Town of Bellevue Chairman from 1965 until 1981. Mr. Froelich was instrumental in forming the Bellevue Sanitary District, Bellevue Fire Department and Bellevue Park Commission. Mr. Froelich also played a lead role working with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to ensure that the I-43/Manitowoc Road Interchange was built.

"When you want to build something you first start with the foundation. The better the foundation, the better the structure. Wencil is the solid foundation that Bellevue is standing on today." stated Craig Beyl, Village President.

Village Seeking Entries For Holiday Decorating Contest

The Village of Bellevue Leisure Services Department is inviting all residents and businesses of Bellevue to participate in the Holiday Decorating Contest . Whether you’re a traditional “Martha Stewart” where every bulb and decoration is just so, or a “Clark Griswold” where more lights and decorations the merrier; this is a chance to shine and be involved in some friendly, fun-filled holiday competition!

Judging will be held on December 15th from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. The top homes and businesses will be notified and awarded prizes!

2011 Village Garbage & Recycling Schedule Now Online

The Village contracts with Veolia Environmental Services for weekly residential garbage and bi-weekly recycling collection.
