Costco To Build Store In Bellevue

The Village of Bellevue has received an application from Costco Wholesale Corporation requesting approval to build a new store along CTH GV (Monroe Road) near State Highway 172.

The plans include the construction of an approximately 150,000 square foot store and a fueling station. The new store will feature a tire center, indoor food court and bakery. Costco is a membership warehouse providing brand name products at wholesale prices. This will be the fifth Costco Store in Wisconsin and the first location in northeast Wisconsin. It is anticipated that the new store will add approximately 200 full and part-time jobs.

To facilitate this project, the Village and County are partnering to reconstruct County Road GV from Allouez Avenue to State Highway 172 during the 2013 construction season. County Executive, Streckenbach worked to move up this project from 2014 to meet the needs of this new store.

“The Village of Bellevue is excited to welcome the new Costco Store to our community. As a pro-development and business friendly community we are happy to add a new business that will spur future commercial growth in this area. The new store will be a benefit to our Village and the region as there are many people in the Green Bay area who travel to the Costco stores in the Madison and Milwaukee areas” Craig Beyl, Village President.

“The Village’s Community Development Department has worked diligently with the developer, property owners, Brown County as well as other key stakeholders to get this project to this point. We look forward to a grand opening of the new Costco Store in Fall of 2013” Aaron Oppenheimer, Village Administrator.

Fish Boil Helps Fund Fire Education & Prevention

The Bellevue Firefighters Association will hold their annual Fish Boil and Open House on Friday, September 28, 2012 from 4:30-8:00pm at Station #2 (1811 Allouez Avenue). The event is used as a fundraiser to support Bellevue fire prevention programs, education and training materials.

The feature of the night is the food of course. Boiled fish, potatoes, carrots, onions and other traditional sides are served. In addition, yummy deserts are baked by friends and relatives of the fire department to be sold. Dozens of firefighters, spouses, friends and others volunteered to help make the event a success.

The Fire Department provides fire education and safety materials to local elementary school children each year during Fire Prevention Week.

Online Municipal Code Now Easier To Use

The Village of Bellevue’s website now features a more user friendly version of the Village Municipal Code.  The new Municipal Code can be found at the following url:  http://www.villageofbellevue.org/government/municipal-code.html

This new feature allows interested web users access to the Municipal Code in a searchable, indexed format making it easier to find information within the Code.  Although the website had the Municipal Code published before, it was in a non-searchable/indexed format.  Essentially users needed to know where to look in order to find what they were looking for.

The Zoning Code is also scheduled to be updated into a similar searchable/indexed format. That will occur later in the year after revisions have been made to the Zoning Code per the Comprehensive Plan Update.
